2011: Wright Having Big Season By Allen Trieu – Midwest Regional Manager

October 14, 2009

Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Dwenger always seems to have talent on its roster. This year, the school is undefeated and appears to be on its way to another state title run. A big part has been running back/defensive back Remound Wright.

675845 For the second straight season, Remound Wright is excelling on both sides of the ball. As a sophomore, he was his team’s leading rusher    and snared eight interceptions to lead the state.

This year, the Bishop Dwenger junior has gotten more offensive, rushing for 893 yards and 19 touchdowns so far on only 89 carries (10.03 avg) in seven games. He still has done his part on defense with two interceptions, 18 tackles and two sacks.

A solidly built 5’8, 170-lbs, he could play on either side of the ball in college and has been hearing from several big time schools since this summer.

“My recruitment has been going great,” Wright reported. “So far I’m being recruited by Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, UCLA, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue, and Indiana. I’m expecting a good amount of offers after this season. All my hard work with Mike Ledo (CEO of AWP Sports Performance in Fort Wayne) has been paying off.”

In the last few weeks, Wright has begun taking unofficial visits to some of the schools who have been recruiting him.

“I decided to take my college visits towards the end of the year and I’ve attended two so far. I was at Michigan State two weeks ago when they played Michigan and I was at Ohio State for their game this past week.”

Wright wants to concentrate on leading his team to another state title, but at the same time, continue to check out prospective schools on Saturdays.

“In the coming weeks I’ll be attending Notre Dame versus USC, Northwestern versus Penn State, and probably an Indiana or Purdue game.”
