Why Athletes With Purpose?

Athletes With Purpose came from founders Michael Ledo and Bryan Bourcier discovering their own purposes, in their passion to empower athletes.

Bryan: Why I started AWP.

bryanI began working with athletes after my sophomore year of college; I felt the need to share the knowledge I wish I had had in high school. I wanted to tach athletes how to correctly train, share with them my personal success and help high school and college athletes succeed. After a few years of training, I realized that I could be more involved in athletes’ lives than just training. That was where the vision of AWP was birthed for me. I could hardly believe that God could use my passion for sports performance to help change kids’ lives. For four years my business partner, Michael Ledo, and I have been working tirelessly to see God bring our vision of training and mentoring athletes into fruition.

Mike: Why I started AWP.

mikeSince I was kid people have identified me with sports, specifically my passion of playing football. My high school and college careers were very successful; winning state championships, setting several standards and being recruited by several division I schools. Although I was a good person, my life was about fulfilling my own passion for sports, sex and fame. My lack of focus on academics prevented me from getting a division I scholarship, and later that year my girlfriend, now my wife, gave birth to our son. This time in my life forced me to turn to God for help and shortly after committing my life to Him I desired to fulfill my purpose.

My vision for AWP was birthed my sophomore year of college when I had the opportunity to train with several top NFL Draft picks. I realized my passion to help kids develop their character, as well as their athletic abilities. My working with long-time-friend, Bryan Bourcier, has provided us with many lesions and refined our vision and passion for AWP

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
